Detoxification: Getting the Most From Fasting

What is detoxification? We all try our best to keep clean on the outside. But very few persons pay attention to internal hygiene. Fasting is one method of keeping your internal environment clean. It is a form of body cleansing and detoxification that’s gaining global acceptance. But the practice is not entirely new. Indeed, for centuries ancient cultures had recognized and employed fasting as an effective and inexpensive method of cleansing the internal organs and rejuvenating the body. Done properly, fasting gives your body some breather, enabling it to flush out built-up toxins and other impurities that accumulate overtime from the food we eat, the air we breathe, the beverages we consume, as well as the contamination that is in the environment. But despite the numerous health benefits that fasting offers, it is advisable to first confirm your health status with your doctor if you’re embarking on it for the first time. This is because there are many fasting programs to choose from. And they all have their merits and demerits, depending on your goal and health condition.Peter Bennett, N.D., Medical Director of Helios Clinic in Victoria, B.C., while affirming that the human

Foods to Avoid After Detoxification

I receive many questions not only about the detoxification process but also regarding what foods to avoid immediately after a detoxification process. I’ll cover some of them in this article.Let’s assume you were on one day fasting or mini-fasting program. You finished the program and are ready to eat the following day. You are actually starving now. You’ve been fantasizing about eating all sorts of junk food and now you are free to reach for them.Stop! Detoxification process has just started, it is still in process and if you start your after detoxification diet with all the junk food that created the toxins in the first place, the detoxification process with all its discomfort will be in vain. It is important to follow a mild diet after this and introduce your regular food slowly. Some foods to avoid:1. Try to avoid caffeine for a day or two and do not drink decaffeinated beverages. Drink herbal teas instead.2. Margarine, saturated fat (butter, dairy products except for low-fat organic yogurt, red meat)3. Wheat containing products at least first two days after the detoxification. Do not consume even whole wheat products.4. Processed, refined or canned

Detoxification – How Come It’s So Painful During The Process And What To Do

Detoxification is very important. If you wake up the morning feeling sluggish, whether you’ve had over or less than 8 hours of sleep, you need to detoxify your body. If you’re always hampered with colds, have trouble handling stress or you can’t take on other types of disease warfare, you need to detoxify. The results of detoxification are very rewarding. I remember when I had gone through my first detoxify, I felt as if the chains I had been carrying through my bloodstream for years were suddenly gone. I could actually control my body, run longer distances and jump for joy. I could even make it through the 3pm hours feeling alive and well, while my workmates would feel like dozing off to sleep. But going through detoxification is one whole other process. Like a goal, you can only get there by going through trials and tribulations. It’s no different with detoxification. If you haven’t had a detox for years and you’ve lived an unhealthy lifestyle, your process is going to be a different experience than that of someone who is health-conscious and practices what they believe in. In fact, the experience can be
